Shingrix is a recombinant protein vaccine. Unlike previous live vaccines (Zostavax), it is approved for immunocompromised persons and shows over 90% efficacy in adults age 50+.
2 doses required. The 2nd dose must be administered 2 to 6 months after the 1st dose. Long-term immunogenicity is established after completing 2 doses.
