Dr. 김민승, director of 아이니의원 and Senior International Academic Director of the Korean Society for Laser Dermatology and Trichology, said, "While inquiries about hair loss treatment are continuing, it is regrettable that many patients miss the appropriate treatment timing due to insufficient awareness of early-stage hair loss."
According to the National Health Insurance Service, Korea's hair loss population reaches approximately 10 million. About 20% of Korea's population is concerned about hair loss. In 2022, the combined proportion of hair loss patients from teens to their 30s accounted for 46.9%, nearly half of all patients.
Dr. Kim advised, "Early hair loss symptoms can be easily identified in daily life, such as excessive hair accumulation in the drain after shampooing, hair becoming thinner and weaker, or the crown appearing sparse when viewed from above. If such early symptoms begin to appear, management should be started promptly."
Dr. Kim explained, "Hair loss does not occur suddenly one day but shows a progressive course where hair gradually becomes thinner or the amount of shedding increases. Early intervention to slow the progression of hair loss is most important, and various methods including home care, mesotherapy, and medications are available."
Dr. Kim advised, "It is important not to stop at hospital examinations and treatment alone, but to receive recommendations for products with proven technology to ensure systematic management including home care, which is essential for early hair loss."
